篆书 Seal Script
It evolved organically out of the Zhou dynasty script, arising in the Warring State of Qin.
篆体起源于周朝,兴起于战时的秦朝。
And was still widely used for decorative engraving and seals (name chops, or signets) in the Han dynasty。
在汉朝时依然广泛用于装饰性雕刻和印章上。

隶书 Clerical Script
Which evolved in the Warring States period to the Qin dynasty, was dominant in he Han dynasty, and remained in use through the Wei-Jin periods.
隶书起源于展示的秦朝,汉朝时占主导地位,并且一直沿用至魏晋时期。

楷书 Regular Script
is the newest of the Chinese script styles (appearing by the Wei dynasty ca. 200 CE and maturing stylistically around the 7th century), hence most common in modern writings and publications

行书 Semi-Cursive Script

it is derived from clerical script, and was for a long time after its development in the 1st centuries AD the usual style of handwriting.
Some of the best examples of semi-cursive can be found in the work of Wang Xizhi (321-379) of the Eastern Jin Dynasty.

草书 Cursive Script
Cursive script is faster to write than other styles, but difficult to read for those unfamiliar with it.

It functions primarily as a kind of shorthand script or calligraphic style.
其主要作用是用于速记的一种笔迹。
People who can read standard or printed forms of Chinese may not be able to comprehend this script at all.
可以阅读标准或印刷体中文的人不一定能全部认出草书。
