原文：The Minerals Hall was good, with examples of so many minerals from around the world. If we pushed a button on a special map, a light on the map showed which minerals are located in that country. We learned that Australia produces 19 different minerals in large amounts from almost 400 mines, and is one of the top producers of minerals in the world, even though mining only began here in the 1800s. Because of all the many uses for minerals in modern life, the minerals mined in Australia make mining the top source of income for the country!

对于词汇量大和基础比较好的同学，自然是正确率相对较高的，但是对于词汇量少的同学我们就需要首先定位答案可能出现的位置，判断填空处的词性，再用自己的单词量找出正确答案，最后检查语法。

我们第一步用名词或名词词组定位。18题和19题附近的名词有students, location of minerals以及a light。带入原文能看出第二句话If we pushed a button on a special map, a light on the map showed which minerals are located in that country.是答案的出处。

我们再开始判断词性，18题空前的different是我们熟悉的单词，形容词词性，后面只能接名词。19题前a告诉我们此空应该填名词单数，并且和a light是并列关系，并且18和19题能填的词还不能是题干中出现的名词students, location of minerals还有a light。

这样排除下来第二句话中的名词只剩下a button, a special map以及country。而a special map在原文是和a light并列的，所以19题的答案为map(因为题目要求只能填一个词)。18题的答案缩小为a button和country，但是原文说的是push a button和in that country，18题要求我们填in different _____，我们只能选择country填进去。

最后一步检查语法，检查过程中发现different后面要跟名词复数，所以18题答案为countries，19题答案为map.

我们接下来补充一下相关的单词。

push v.推，它的反义词是pull v.拉。这两个词我们在走入任何商铺都会看到。

button n.按钮，要和bottom区分开。我们上课只要是周末或者平时太晚下课，离开学校都要push the button to open the door. bottom n.底部；adj.底部的。
