1.抱怨信: complain about, deliver my complaint about…, extend my dissatisfaction over…

2.抱歉和解释信: apologize for, express heartfelt apologies for…, be sincerely sorry for…
首段:Dear Mr. Wang:
I am awfully sorry about what my dog did to your garden the day before yesterday, I want you know how badly I feel about it.I assure you that it will not happen again.
Being sorry is not enough. But we honestly thank you for being so generous with us and our dog.
Yours sincerely
Lynn

3.感谢词:thank you from the bottom of my heart
thanks a million
I sincerely appreciate
Many thanks for your kindness
作业:Write a letter to thank your friends for caring for you when you were in hospital after an accident.

4.要求和申请信:apply for, ask for further information, ensure whether or not,
例:Write a letter to Mr. Wang who works in administration office to ask for an increase in financial aid.
Dear Mr. Wang:
I am writing to you to see whether or not I can get an increase in financial aid. As the administration office had done a lot in helping people with financial need.I tend to ask another help from you.

Dear Jan,
As you know, we’ll be moving to a new house soon and there are a few things that won’t be able to take with me. The new house is a bit smaller so i have to seel some furniture and i was wondering if you might be interested.

In particular i want to sell my big dining table. Do you remember it–the one in the living room? It has wooden legs and a grey glass top and it’s big enough for six people. There are six matching chairs to go with it.

I know you’ve always liked this furniture so i could let you have it at a good price. I’d rather sell it to you than a stranger!

Why don’t you come around and take another look at them on Saturday? We’ll be here all day, so maybe we could have some lunch together?

Give me a ring and let me know,

Love,

Shanda

Dear Ms Barnes,
I am writing concerning the position of Assistant Office Manger that i am due to being next Monday. However, a problem has arisen.

As you know, i currently work for my uncle’s food-packing business, and you will remember from my interview that i have gained valuable experience there. Unfortunately, he has had to go into hospital for an operation, leaving my aunt in charge of both the home and the business. She has asked me, as this is a particularly busy time of year, to stay on and help her with the running of the office.

I realise this will be inconvenient to you, but very much hope that, given the circumstances, you would be prepared to allow me to take up my position with you two weeks later than planned.

I would like to emphasize that i remain very keen to work with you, and that i will be gaining further useful experience during this time.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,
John Forbes

Dear Dave:
I am writing to let you know that at last we have moved to a bigger house! We just couldn’t go on living in the two bedroom bungalow now that the twins are growing up and the new baby has arrived. S o we started looking-and one thing led to another and finally here we are in our new home.

I’m sure you’ll like it. We have three bedrooms now and a very modern bathroom and kitchen. The kids are happy because there is much more space with the big living room and the garden outside. But Michel is the happiest of all because he doesn’t need to do much decorating.

Why don’t you come round this weekend and see what you think of our new place?we would all love to see you and if the weather is good we can have a barbecue in the garden.

Our new address and phone number are below, so give us a call and let us know when to expect you.

Lots of love,

Francis

Dear James:
I was very shocked to get your letter saying that the noise from my flat has been spoiling your evenings and causing you some distress. I am really, really sorry about that. I had no idea that you would be able to hear so much , so i hope you will accept my apologies.

As you may have guessed, i am trying to refit my kitchen in the evenings when i get home from work. Unfortunately it is all taking longer than expected and i have been having problems with getting things to fit properly. This has meant a lot of banging and hammering.

As the kitchen is still not finished, i have decided to call in a professional builder who will finish the work in the next day or two. He’ll work only during daytime hours, so you won’t be disturbed in the evenings again, i promise.

Sorry to have caused these problems,

Bill

Dear Jenny:
I hope this finds you and your family well, and I’m sorry i haven’t been in touch recently. I am writing now to let you know about my new job.

You remember that i was working for that construction company a few miles outside the city?Well, i just got so fed up with it–I was working really long hours and, to be honest, the pay wasn’t great. So basically i applied for a job at a new international company that was looking for admin staff for a new branch in the city centre.

I was a bit nervous in the interview, but in the end i got a job as one of the senior administrators. I am so happy! The pay is better, the working conditions are great and i don’t have to drive to work anymore.

Anyway, i have to stop now because my sister is staying with me and has brought my baby nephew to meet me. She sends you lots of love and is asking when we cal all meet up. Soon, i hope.

With love,
Tina
